What is the difference between my username and my full name?

The username and password are used to gain access to the website whereas your full name will be displayed at the top of your portfolio once you have accessed.

Why am I being presented with the 'username already taken' error message?

The username is unique, therefore you cannot have the same username as another person. You may need to make more than one attempt at choosing a username.
For example: JohnSmith, Johnsmith2000, Jsmith2000.

Please remember that both the username and password are Case-sensitive. Therefore when you re-enter the site after registering you should make sure to input each exactly as you enter them here.

Why does the registration form keep rejecting my choice of password?

Both username and password should only contain letters and numbers. Any spaces or symbols are not allowed. The username should contain between 6 and 16 characters, and the password requires between 6 and 16 characters.

Are the username and password Case Sensitive?

Yes. Both the username and the password are case sensitive and therefore should be entered in exactly the same way each time. For example if you originally registered as JohnSmith - you will need to use a capital J and capital S with the rest in lowercase each time.

Yes. Once registered you will be able to change any of your details by clicking on the 'My Profile' link at the top of the homepage. Here you will also be able to opt in and out of our newsletter lists.

Where can I find my SIB or my FSA number – and why do you need them?

You can provide us with either your SIB or your FSA number as a unique identifier of your IFA status. You should find these numbers on any correspondence you receive from the FSA, or by contacting them via their website at FSA.gov.uk. We need this information so we can safeguard membership of the site for qualified IFA professionals only.
